Stellar Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading coal operation in Central QLD to appoint a Graduate Mine Accountant. This newly created role presents a rare opportunity for an entry-level accountant to launch their career while working alongside experienced professionals and enjoying the unique benefits of a career in mining.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this position offers hands-on experience across various aspects of operational accounting. As a key business partner and fundamental member of the site-based team, you'll contribute to the operation's continued growth and success.

This role follows a Monday-to-Friday roster with the option of a 9-day fortnight. It is based on-site at the mining operation, with full support for relocation to a nearby township, including provided housing. Alternatively, a drive-in, drive-out arrangement with camp accommodation is available.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting with the end-of-month process, including accruals, variance analysis, and reporting.
  • Supporting internal stakeholders with forecasting and general costings.
  • Assisting in preparing capital requests (AFEs) and financial NPV analyses.
  • Performing ad-hoc tasks to support business operations, such as reviewing contractor claims and site administration.
  • Authorising and check significant invoices prior to administrator receipting.
Experience Required:
  • Recent completion of a tertiary degree in Business or Commerce.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
