About the Role

Protech is currently seeking Haul Truck Simulator Trainer’s that are based in Mackay to facilitate the delivery of our New to Industry Program. Due to consistent course bookings, a casual trainer is required for weekend and/or week day night courses.  

This position will see you take on key responsibilities, such as the following:

  • Delivery of the new to industry program over a period of 2-4 days including theory, sandpit scenarios, and simulator practical elements to ensure sufficient skill building with new entrants.  
  • Provide high level support and guidance to participants to ensure successful outcomes when placed on site.
  • Demonstrate and monitor simulator training experiences.
  • Keep accurate records of training outcomes and prepare reports for recruitment / clients.
  • Ensure training facilities and simulator set up is coordinated.
  • Monitor feedback on course from participants and modify and continuously improve content.
  • Communicate with supplier to ensure simulator requirements are facilitated.

About You
•    Experience operating both mechanical and electric haul trucks in a coal mining environment;
•    Previous CAT truck training experience within the mining industry;
•    Exposure to haul truck simulators (preferred);
•    Have excellent communication and delivery skills; 
•    Friendly, patient and efficient customer service mindset
•    Ability to work 2-4 days at a time either at night or over the weekend.
