Position: HC/MC Truck Drivers

Location: Gladstone, Central Qld

About the Role:

  • Cart materials both locally and long haul. Safely and accurately collect and deliver materials, water, plant and equipment to relevant jobsites as well as completing project work upon an hourly basis;
  • Safely manoeuvre and operate trucks when on work sites, adhering to all safety instructions;
  • Load and unload plant and equipment from floats, low loaders or trucks. 
  • Effectively position truck to load and unload safely without damage to the truck or any other property;
  • Drive trucks with more than a capacity 12t with multi-combinations;
  • Safely secure and care for materials and/or equipment and/or plant on truck; Position tarpaulins/material covers and tie ropes/adjust chains around items to secure material and/or plant and/or equipment for transport;
  • Effectively drive trucks and adapts driving style on the road to suit light, heavy or congested traffic, work sites, all sorts of weather conditions and locations.
  • Apply best practice standards in all areas of HS&E, quality procedures, standard operating procedures & job safety analysis systems.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Hold a valid HC or MC driver’s licence 
  • At least 1-year proven experience within the industry or similar.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of completing necessary paperwork and collaborating effectively with colleagues and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical assessments, drug and alcohol testing.
  • Ability and willingness to complete site inductions and actively participate in pre-starts.
