HD Drill Fitter | Mackay/Townsville | $80 - $85/hr

The Role
Working in North Queensland, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of production drill rigs and support equipment. This role will see you performing servicing, diagnostics, breakdown repairs, and preventative maintenance to keep equipment ongoing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, servicing, and repairs on drill rigs and ancillary equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults
  • Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance activities
  • Complete breakdown repairs safely and efficiently in both field and workshop environments
  • Ensure equipment maintains peak operational performance and reliability
  • Complete service reports, maintenance records, and inspection documentation
  • Work closely with Drillers, Supervisors, and Operations teams to minimise downtime
  • Maintain strong compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance team

  • Sandvik production drill rigs
  • Atlas Copco drill rigs
  • Top Hammer drill rigs
  • CAT ancillary equipment
  • Mining, quarrying and construction support equipment
Requirements
  • Trade qualified Diesel Fitter, Mobile Plant Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent
  • Exposure to Sandvik, ETI, Top Hammer or similar drill rig equipment
  • hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and diagnostic capabilities
  • Mining, quarrying, construction or heavy mobile equipment background preferred
  • Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills
