About us

Central Lane Hotel is located in Gladstone QLD. Gladstone is an export hub through shipping along with several processing plants. The Hotel is located in the CBD and has recently reopened after a major development along with repositioning in the market. Now completed, the 2 level Hotel has a purpose built carpark, new gaming room, relocated and modern kitchen, expansive outdoor dining along with a private dining room. Ground level bar with TAB and Keno facilities. The upper level is a family friendly recreational environment boasting the latest AMF bowling alley, karaoke room and now interactive darts along with F&B facility. Our authentic hospitality approach is our foundation which requires a team approach to training and support. As a sole independent hotelier the hotel is based on real hospitality and good old fashion service. 

 

 

Our role may include but not limited to: 

· 

  • Build, lead and maintain a strong and unified kitchen team from sous chefs to apprentices and all other cooking abilities in between

  • Deliver consistent, vibrant and ever-changing food options for an already well-established venue

  • Heavy focus on understanding and delivering on R.O.I's 

  • Manage the development, delivery, and execution of all event and main menus as part of a senior management team…

  • Support the Venue Manager

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Display a substantial ability to continually communicate at both a senior management level and as part of a robust, but well organized team

  • Be the main point of contact for all behind the scenes kitchen activities, offering a professional senior voice based on venue expectations and your own personal experiences.

  • Manage kitchen budgets and logistics, including ordering, monthly stock-takes and staffing levels.

  • Collaborate with the senior management team on event, weekly specials and other area specific menus, with a key focus on taste, plate presentation, diversity and costings

  • Provide leadership, training, and direction to staff under your guidance.

  • Handle high level administrative tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong and previous experience in a kitchen leadership role is non-negotiable.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven Ability to manage both wage and food costs.

  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proactive and positive problem-solving skills.

  • Organizational skills to maximize productivity.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities. 

Be able to produce all relevant cooking certifications
