Health Safety and Training Manager

Job Description

Advancing careers. Advancing everyday life.

At Hail Creek, everything we do is about developing our people, optimising our asset and improving our future. We positively impact our people and communities. We strive to be industry leaders - the Mine of Choice. It's a culture that fosters pragmatic outcomes where things happen quickly. We promote those 'out of the box' ideas to continuously improve and no day is ever the same. With a large and passionate workforce of over 1,000 people, there is a great opportunity for you to contribute and make an impact.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a passionate Health, Safety and Training Manager to join our dynamic and successful team. As a key member of the Site Leadership team and reporting directly to the Operations Manager/SSE, this multifaceted role will see you work across a broad range of Health, Safety and Training functions. You will provide leadership to site, driving a safe and healthy workplace and continuously improving the site SHMS. You will have a dedicated and driven HST team reporting to you and supporting you every step of the way.

To be successful in this role, you are a savvy, results driven and resilient safety leader with extensive experience and a passion for exceptional service delivery. Your demonstrated involvement in the delivery of business focused HST advice, coupled with your strong understanding of Safety Standards and Regulations are essential to your success. You will be a highly organised, solutions focused professional who is responsive, intuitive, innovative, self-motivated and driven to achieve great outcomes.

Just as importantly, we've worked hard to make sure you feel valued. In return, here are just some of the benefits we offer:

  • The option to work a compressed 9 day-fortnight flexible work arrangement;
  • An attractive remuneration package, including short term performance based bonuses, a vehicle in line with Policy, and Healthy Lifestyle reimbursement; and
  • Provision for Education Assistance to support continued professional development.

This role is a wonderful opportunity for you no matter your circumstance. You will have the option to either live locally in one of the communities that surround our operation or stay on site in our amazing village. We are only a one and quarter hour drive from the beautiful Mackay hinterland and a two and half hour drive from Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands and have a diverse group of people at our operation commuting from multiple locations in Queensland such as SE Qld, Rockhampton and Townsville, to name a few.

Our people think and act like entrepreneurs. We have built a culture that rewards dedicated people with a can-do spirit, who take responsibility, and who have the drive to be leaders in their field. If you are caring yet driven, and can operate within a dynamic environment, this is your chance to become part of a culture that empowers people and drives progression.
