IPA are looking for experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanics for our busy Rockhampton client.

About the Role:

Are you an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic ready to take on new challenges with a leading name in the transport industry? Our client is looking for skilled mechanics to join their Rockhampton team. You'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of trucks, prime movers, trailers, and forklifts, ensuring they're in top condition and safe to operate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Truck Maintenance: Regular servicing, preventative maintenance, and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
  • Body Trucks: Perform bodywork repairs, address corrosion, and customize truck bodies as needed.
  • Prime Movers: Engine maintenance, drivetrain repairs, and suspension system inspections.
  • Trailers: Conduct inspections, make necessary repairs, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Forklifts: Carry out daily operational checks and maintain hydraulic systems and batteries.
  • Diagnostics: Use advanced tools to troubleshoot and resolve vehicle issues.
  • Inspections: Perform routine inspections and compliance checks, ensuring all vehicles meet safety standards.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with team members, provide training, and maintain effective communication.
  • Safety: Follow all safety protocols and wear PPE to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of all maintenance tasks and manage inventory.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology , with hands-on experience in heavy vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and fix complex mechanical issues.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to ensuring high-quality repairs.
  • Physical Stamina: Able to handle physically demanding tasks and work in various conditions.
  • Licences: Must hold a valid C Class licence.
