About Us

Bidgerdii Community Health Service is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled primary health care service, operating in the Rockhampton and Central Queensland region for close to 30 years. The organisation is a bulk billing community-controlled health service, managed by a Board of Directors who oversee and manage the strategic directions of the service.

 

Bidgerdii provides comprehensive primary health and well-being services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the Rockhampton and surrounding regions. Bidgerdii collaborates with health and well-being partner agencies to enable integrated continuity of care for the community and continue to work to contribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health policy and program reform in Queensland.

 

 

 

 

About the Role

This position forms part of the Corporate Services Team. The HRM Coordinator will lead all Human Resources Management practices and objectives that will provide a high-performance culture emphasising quality, productivity, goal attainment and empowerment and is responsible for the development of processes and reporting metrics that support the achievement of the Organisation’s goals and strategic direction.

 

The incumbent will support, develop, maintain and oversee a consistent Human Resources Management compliance culture across all Bidgerdii’s work units. The incumbent is responsible for reviewing, maintaining or developing and publishing, with support of department heads, appropriate policies and procedures. Brief work units and new employees on the relevant policies and procedures. Monitor and report on compliance of HRM processes. Provide monthly compliance reporting, manage and report on incidents and non-conformances, assist with identifying corrective and preventive actions and coordinate associated action plans. Provide advice and support to various departments on HRM matters, as required. Other projects within position scope as needed and/or directed.

 

The role is also responsible for ensuring the effective operation of the day-to-day administrative functions and providing support on a range of HRM functions to support the Corporate Services Manager (CSM) in relation to HRM/WHS functions, as required.

 

 

 

 

 

About You

You a compassionate, optimistic individual wanting to make a difference in people’s lives especially our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and also have the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in the Human Resource Management and Work Health and Safety or related field/s.
  • Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in a HR position within a small business.
  • Demonstrated specialist/generalist knowledge in all aspects of Human Resources Management.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing a HRM system in a complex multi-faceted organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in regards to investigation processes, across both fields.
  • Experience in Workers Compensation management, rehabilitation and return to work processes, including non-work-related injury/illness.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and deliver education sessions of varying levels of complexity with the ability to research issues and attain solutions within a set time period.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering HR/WHS training and briefing sessions to all levels of staff.

 

 

 

 

Practical Requirements

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD) – essential
  • Immunisation requirements – It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, hepatitis A and pertussis (whooping cough) during their employment
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Current Blue Card (Working with Children and young people) or willingness to apply for a Blue Card
  • Satisfactory Police Check
