About the role

WorkPac are seeking a HSE Advisor to join our local mining client role in Yarwun. The successful candidate will work closely with the shutdown team. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and support Safety Management Systems.
  • Update and create site-specific HSE procedures and standards.
  • Facilitate Level 2 Risk Assessments (L2RA).
  • Coach and support Incident and Fatigue Management processes.
  • Manage and maintain the SLIP program.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with HSE Management Plan commitments.
  • Conduct audits and provide governance reports.
  • Liaise with contractors and site HSE teams, holding daily meetings.
  • Review and set safety priorities (SLIP, CRM, Spotlight).
  • Collate and provide live safety data.
  • Review safety standards and develop Safety Memos.
  • Develop and implement Journey and Traffic Management Plans.
  • Facilitate safety training, compliance, and audits with providers.
  • Oversee Hospital/Injury Attendance and Return to Work (RRTW) processes.
  • Mentor in Incident and Action Management, CRM audits, and field safety.
  • Liaise with the Health Team on Fatigue Reviews and Plans.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience in HSE management and safety systems.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and provide compliance support.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in liaising with contractors, site teams, and health teams.
  • Experience in conducting audits and managing safety data.
  • Ability to facilitate risk assessments and ensure safety priorities are met.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to manage safety programs, review standards, and handle emergency situations.
  • Competence in managing fatigue reviews and injury attendance, as well as facilitating compliance with RTW processes.
  • Familiarity with safety tools like CRM, SLIP, SWMS, and fatigue management plans.
