Our Company 

Mackellar is one of Australia’s largest mining equipment & service contractors in Mining and Civil Earthmoving. We are the mining services contractor for Bravus’ Carmichael Mine and together we are creating jobs and opportunities for regional Queensland. 
 
We have a new opportunity for an experienced HSE Advisor to play an integral role the day-to-day operations at one of our largest projects. Work an 8/6 roster with flights available from Rockhampton or Townsville.

About the role

We are looking to expand our Safety team in Central Queensland and would like to employ an HSE Advisor who is focused on promoting high health and safety standards, while also achieving operational outcomes.

These roles are critical to our success on this project and will work in conjunction with supervisors and managers to ensure an excellent safety record is maintained through instilling a strong safety culture and open communication on site. Responsibilities of this role include:
  • Provide technical safety support and ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and legislative requirements
  • Complying with a HSE management system
  • Assist with the development, review and improvement of the health & safety management system and work procedures
  • Assisting in the close out of corrective actions from inspections, audits and investigations are implemented
  • Developing and implementing site-specific safety strategies and initiatives.
You will need
  • Prior experience as a Safety Advisor in mining/heavy industry
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety
  • Current S1,2,3 & G2 (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Queensland driver licence.
