I&C currently have an opportunity for a HSEQ Advisor role within our successful organisation.  Based in Gladstone,  the Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Advisor is a valued member of our team. You will work closely with the management team, implementing risk management processes and programs across our business. This is a position which will provide the right candidate with opportunities to work across a variety of new and interesting challenges in the Electrical Industry.

Candidates must have:   

  • Certificate IV OHS.
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment or readiness to obtain.
  • Current QLD Open Drivers Licence.
  • Current completion of course in General Safety Induction.
  • Current QLD Electrical Licence 
  • 5 years + experience in the Construction Industry  
  • Knowledge of the Electrical Construction Industry 
  • Communicate Effectively, actively listen to others, and respond with understanding and respect - Clearly explain and present ideas and arguments, listen to others to gain an understanding and ask appropriate, respectful questions.  Monitor own and others’ non-verbal cues and adapt where necessary.  Write and prepare material that is well structured and easy to follow.  Communicate routine technical information clearly.
  • Experience and knowledge in Safety Management Systems to AS/NZS 4801:2001

You will: 

  • Implement & monitor all Company safety policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. 
  • Investigate all workplace incidents and grievances in a fair and appropriate manner.
  • To provide a quality service to the client via effective documentation and communication.
  • To comply with and assist with the development of JQSEA/SWM’S, site safety policies and procedures.
  • Report all situations at the workplace that could constitute a hazard to any person, environment, or equipment.
  • Site auditing and reporting.
  • Company safety accreditation process and work with IMS Rep to ensure current Quality/safety/ Environmental legislation Is in place.
  • Assist IMS representative with IMS implementation & updates.
  • Conduct safety meetings and research safety material.
  • Manage Subcontractors ensuring they are approved & inductions / training/licenses/VOCs are current and on file prior to working on site.
  • Assist in reviewing Subcontractor SWMS/SWP/JQSEA Prior to work on site.
  • Assist with supervision of Subcontractor high risk works. 
  • Provide overall company safety guidance. 
  • To manage and control all Company Quality, Safety, Environmental and Training Requirements in an efficient, effective, fair and timely manner. To ensure the company complies with all Quality, Safety, Environmental and training requirements is met to achieve the Goal of Zero Incidents and Accidents. The concept of continuous improvement for the business in the Quality, Safety, Environmental and Training areas will be an integral part of this position.
