Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Human Resources Coordinator to join the Oaky Creek Coal team on an 18-month fixed term basis.

In this role you will be responsible for:

As a true generalist role, this position covers all aspects of the human resources function, in particular, you will:

  • Lead the recruitment and selection function. Ensuring adherence to recruitment policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development, review and evaluation of HR Policies and Procedures.
  • Undertake projects in HR matters to develop innovative best practice processes.
  • Have an adequate understanding of payroll with the ability to problem solve enquiries.
  • Work closely with all departments using relevant agreements, policies and legislation to provide HR consulting advice to manager and staff.
  • Actively contribute to the HR team and foster an environment that is dedicated to superior and timely client service delivery.
  • Contribute to processes and procedures relevant to long term absences, employee discipline, performance management and employee complaints matters.

About you:

  • Hold tertiary qualification in human resources or employment law.
  • Strong HR generalist experience, preferably within the mining or heavy construction industry.
  • Working knowledge of current legislation.
  • Demonstrate high degree of confidentiality.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience using SAP or Workday is preferable, and a high proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.

This is a Monday to Friday Rostered position. The successful candidate may have the option to work a compressed 9-day fortnight flexible work arrangement.
