We are currently seeking experienced HV Electricians interested in joining our team at the at the South Walker Creek Mine located 35 kilometres west of Nebo in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. And the closest mine to Mackay!
Golding
At South Walker Creek Coal Mine, Golding operates seven large pre-strip fleets on a 7-day continuous roster. Due to expansion Golding are seeking an experienced and qualified HV Electricians to join the Maintenance Team. Our fleet currently includes the following:
- Excavators Hitachi 3600,5500, 5600
- Haul Trucks Cat 789, Komatsu 830E
- New CAT 793’s & Hitachi EX 5600-7's with the new contract
- Dozers D10, D11
- Graders 16, 24M
The Role - HV Electrician
- Servicing, repair & maintain large-scale mobile mining equipment in accordance with Golding maintenance systems
- Work safely and comply with the Site Safety Management System
- Complete General Maintenance, Breakdowns, Services & Component Change outs
- Complete periodical Statutory Electrical Testing/ Inspections
- Ensure good housekeeping standards & accurate documentation
Requirements for HV Electrician Role
- Australian recognised High Voltage Electrician Trade Certificate
- Experience working on electric drive haul trucks
- High Voltage Switching certification
- High level of technical skills on the above equipment
- Solid troubleshooting & diagnostic skills
- Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic Trade Certificate
- A Current Queensland Coal Board Medical
- Standard 11 Statement of Attainment (within 5 years)
- Current LVR CPR ticket
- Current Open Drivers Licence
- Commitment to the Values and Code of Conduct of Golding

- Current contract plus 5-year extension @ South Walker Creek from January 2026.
- Base $161K - $174K + Super with fortnightly pays.
- $71.19 - $76.67 per/hr (annualised) depending on experience.
- Superannuation on all rostered hours worked + Coal Long Service contributions.
- 7:7 rotating shifts 12.5 hours, great work/life roster.
- BIBO from Mackay.
- FIFO options - conditions apply.
