With over 50 years’ experience specialising in the Instrumentation & Electrical field, Slade Industries is seeking a team-oriented and experienced E&I Technician to join our team in Gladstone. This position is ideal for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career and begin, or continue building on, their growth in the industry, including the ability to progress through to a project management position in time. With support and learning opportunities from our experienced Leadership Team, our ideal candidate is someone with the skillset to hit the ground running, to oversee and grow our portfolio of projects within the Central and North QLD regions.

To be considered you must meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of industrial instrumentation and electrical principles, and ability to apply these principles on various projects;

  • Demonstrated people leadership experience would be an advantage;

  • Project Scoping, Planning and Management experience will be highly regarded;

  • Acknowledged communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to make decisions and escalate as required;

  • Experience in the use of Microsoft SharePoint, or the ability to learn our internal document management system;

  • Possess the required technical certificates/licences including but not limited to:

    • Cert III in Electrical Instrumentation (and/or) Cert IV in Electrical Instrumentation

    • Full unrestricted Electrical Licence

    • White Card

    • Current Drivers Licence

    • Current CPR & First Aid (Live LV panel)

    • Commissioning Experience

    • Project Management Skillset (Desirable, not essential)

    • EEHA (Highly regarded)

    • Experience with Beamex equipment and TREX communicators (an advantage)

    • QAL/BSL/RTAY Blue Medipass (3-site) - (or willingness to obtain)

Position Specific Duties:

You will be expected to be conversant with installation, testing, commissioning, fault finding, repairing, modifying and maintaining instrument and electrical equipment associated with industrial plants which utilise a combination of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic principles. You will familiar with P&ID’s, Single Line Diagrams, Block Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Schematic Diagrams, Function testing of Motor Control Centres and carrying out commissioning and maintenance of instrumentation & electrical equipment.

You will possess an understanding of work scopes and tender documentation or the ability to learn on the job. Along with the relevant Project Managers you will provide guidance and leadership to our local project team. You will oversee project scopes, quality control, cost management, timesheet and time management of the project team within your project portfolio. As our regional representative, you will act as our point of contact for clients, suppliers and other interested parties within the region.
