Industrial Blaster - About the Role:

MPV Sandblasting and Coating Services is seeking a talented and experienced Industrial Sandblaster/Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces for sandblasting, operating sandblasting equipment, the inspection of surfaces for any damages or imperfections and carrying out necessary repairs, selecting appropriate paints and mixing to requirements, operating painting equipment, painting/coating to specifications, performing routine maintenance, adherence to HSEQ procedures as well as maintaining accurate records of activities and materials used.

  • Preparing surfaces for sandblasting

  • Operating sandblasting equipment

  • Regular inspections of surfaces with necessary repairs carried out continuously

  • Large variety of industrial blasting and painting - differing tasks and scopes

  • Maintenance of sandblasting tools and equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot maintenance concerns and make necessary repairs/recommendations

  • Select the appropriate paint or mix paints according to a predetermined formula per manufacturer and or customer specifications

  • Operate spray equipment or other painting or product coating equipment as required

  •  Clean and maintain painting and coating , ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment

  •  Take environmental reading prior to and during the painting and coating process

  • Certificate 3 in Surface Preparation & Coatings (preferable) 

  • Ability to fill out and coordinate paperwork flow

  • Strict adherence to HSEQ policies and procedures

  • Track and document activities and materials used accurately

  • Ability to work autonomously

     

About you

  • Minimum 2 years proven sandblasting and painting experience

  • Current Forklift License

  • Construction White Card

  • Ability to work independently, and part of a team

  • Reliable and consistent with your work

The ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills, a safety-conscious approach, a valid driver's license with reliable transport, and their own accommodation.
