As our Intake, Assessment & Administrative Support Officer you will be the first point of contact within The Courage Project and provide information about services offered by The Courage Project to prospective clients who have experienced physical harm and/or Child Sexual Abuse.


Based in our Mackay office, this is a fixed term contract until 30 June 2025 - part time 3 day per week role with flexibility on the spread of hours . The position is paid in accordance with the SCHADS Award, Level 3, Pay point 1.


What you will bring to the role:


  • Experience in, or the ability to effectively communicate therapeutically with callers some of whom may present in a heightened emotional state.
  • You will be flexible and adaptable, and able to plan and manage your time effectively (particularly when your day may not go to plan)
  • Demonstrated experience working in a telephone counselling setting and/or experience in handling phone queries
  • A sound understanding of the effects of child sexual assault or trauma

All Bravehearts employees must have a current Working with Children Check (relevant to the state/territory where the work is being completed) and a satisfactory National Criminal History Check.
