About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Kitchen Assistant to support the Kitchen Manager, Cook and Hospitality Services team. You’ll help deliver a safe, efficient and high‑quality catering service that aligns with Sundale’s values and Food Safety Program.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with meal and beverage preparation for all dining periods
• Deliver meals to wings, rooms and dining areas, and collect trays after service
• Support cooks and the Kitchen Manager with food preparation
• Label food items and rotate stock in line with Sundale’s Food Safety Program
• Operate commercial and domestic dishwashers
• Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils and insulated containers
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, storage areas and delivery vehicle
• Restock chemicals and consumables as required
• Record temperatures, cleaning schedules and other compliance documentation
• Support stock deliveries and follow FIFO rotation standards
• Assist with maintaining accurate allergen, dislikes and dietary preference lists

What We’re Looking For:

• Ability to follow the Sundale Food Safety Program and hygiene procedures
• Strong organisational skills and excellent time management
• Experience in food service, hospitality or aged care (desirable)
• Positive, proactive attitude with commitment to high‑quality service
• Ability to work effectively in a flexible and supportive team environment
• Confidence using basic technology and completing documentation
• Understanding of nutritional requirements, texture modifications, allergies and special diets (desirable)
