We’re seeking a passionate and skilled Kitchen Manager to lead the hospitality services at our Boyne Island Aged Care Facility. This is a high-impact leadership role offering an attractive salary and optional relocation support.

About the Role

As our Kitchen Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring residents receive fresh, appetising meals that meet their nutritional needs and personal preferences. You’ll manage and mentor a team of Cooks and Kitchen Assistants, uphold food safety and aged care standards, and elevate the overall dining experience.

This role is perfect for an experienced hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, a passion for food service excellence, and a commitment to resident wellbeing.

Shift times: 6:00am – 2:06pm
Admin day: First Friday of each fortnight


What You’ll Do

  • Lead and supervise daily food preparation and service
  • Ensure all meals meet nutritional guidelines, dietary requirements, IDDSI standards and resident preferences
  • Maintain full compliance with the Food Act, QLD Food Safety Standards, HACCP, and Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Manage stock, ordering and catering budgets
  • Mentor, train and develop kitchen staff, including performance and onboarding
  • Oversee menu planning, recipe development and portion control
  • Collaborate with Leisure & Lifestyle for special events
  • Drive continuous improvement and uphold exceptional audit results
  • Ensure a safe, clean and compliant kitchen environment

Required Qualifications or Certificates

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • National Police Check
  • Pre‑employment medical assessment
  • Previous kitchen management experience (desirable)
