We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Production Officer to join our team on a permanent part time basis. Enjoy a flexible four-day workweek (29 hours), designed to balance productivity and personal time seamlessly.

About this opportunity:

The Kitchen Production Officer will produce high-quality food items, including condiments and ice cream, for retail sale. Responsibilities include inventory management, procurement of supplies, maintaining cost control, and ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards aligned with Mackay Regional Council and SSS Quality and Service Standards. The role also involves cleaning, maintaining equipment, contributing to product development, and providing regular updates to the Distiller and Coordinator. The Kitchen Production Officer will work in a team environment, including volunteers, to deliver consistent products that contribute to the overall visitor experience and reputation of the Sarina Sugar Shed.

About You:
The ideal candidate has experience in kitchen production or food handling, with strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. You are organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing inventory and budgets effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Food Handling certificate.
  • Food Safety Supervisor certificate.
  • QLD "C" Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent.

Possession of Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification, a qualification in cookery or food production, and a QLD First Aid Certificate, including CPR will be highly regarded.
