Job Description

Mackay Regional Council are seeking experienced Labourers to join our dynamic Civil Operations team based from our Paget Depot. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and construction of roads, drainage assets, and other civil infrastructure in the beautiful region of Mackay.

About this opportunity:

To carry out labouring and plant and truck operation duties associated with maintenance and construction of roads and drainage assets, or other associated civil infrastructure under the remote supervision of a supervisor or leading hand.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Current QLD General Construction Safety White Card
  • Current QLD Manual Car 'C' Class Open Driver's License
  • Competency in operating small ride-on equipment and light mechanical plant, supported by relevant certificates of competency for civil construction machinery.
  • Previous experience in maintenance and construction of roads, drainage, and other civil infrastructure, including tasks such as earthworks, concrete work, pipelaying, bitumen application, and vegetation management, will be highly regarded. However, we are prepared to provide training for the right candidate.
