About the Role

We are looking for a Leading Hand to join our Component Rebuild team in Mackay. This is a Permanent Full-Time role with roster or Monday to Friday options available.

As a Leading Hand, you will:

  • Provide active leadership to employees to improve performance.
  • Train and develop others including coaching and mentoring.
  • Plan work to the highest efficiency
  • Monitor jobs for quality and efficiency, review and ensure all parts, labour and miscellaneous segments on work orders are correct in preparation for the closure of the segment.
  • Ensure tradespersons have work completed by the agreed date.
  • Provide guidance and expertise when required.
  • Proactively identify job quality and efficiency risks
  • Report defects and unsatisfactory practices to help promote continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adverse environment impacts are identified and sustainability measures implemented as per Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure apprentices obtain every opportunity to achieve competencies in an acceptable timeframe via on-the-job training.

About You

A successful teammate will have experience in:

  • Certificate III or IV in Trade Certification
  • Demonstrate competence to show supportive and structured leadership in the workplace.
  • Skills to provide high level technical advice and guidance to peers.
  • Skills to provide a very high level of customer service, whilst ensuring customer needs are addressed.
  • Competent to promote team effectiveness, communicate up and down the chain of command and inspect others work to ensure high level quality assurance.
  • Maintain a high level of workplace health and safety!
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
