The role:

We are seeking an experienced Preparation Sampler to join our Mackay team and take on a Leading Hand role at our site Laboratory. You will provide sampling and testing services for our coal mining clients in relation to their coal production, shipping and exploration initiatives. 

Your day to day will include but is not limited to:

  • Building a positive team culture centred on training and teamwork
  • Assist with supervision, coaching and training of a Preparation Team both on site and at the Mackay Ports
  • Deputise when necessary for senior staff, rostering and scheduling
  • Assist to ensure safety, quality and reporting requirements are met 
  • Be involved in site audits and sampling

This role would suit a candidate wishing to pursue a career in the industry. 

 

What’s needed?

To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:

  • Sample preparation or laboratory experience
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Mon-Fri with overtime on weekends as required
  • A QLD C Class manual drivers license and own transport

Safety is an absolute. Ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing and the ability to meet site inductions, include COVID vaccinations, will be a requirement of working on site. 

Must be Mackay based. NO FIFO.
