Locum Speech Pathologist required for a locum in Mackay, Queensland. Full time hours, 80 hours per fortnight. There is one locum role but several options based on your availability:
 
  • ASAP - 02.02.25 (4 weeks) – inpatient rehabilitation experience required OR
  • ASAP - 02.03.25 (8 weeks) – inpatient adult acute experience required OR
  • ASAP - 30.03.25 (12 weeks) – inpatient adult acute experience highly desirable
The Speech Pathology Service delivers care to patients, both children and adults, throughout our hospital departments as well as in outpatient, community and rural settings. The Speech Pathologists provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management to children and adults needing help with communication and/or swallowing.
 

You must have:
  • Clinical experience within acute/hospital settings (e.g. medical, surgical, emergency care)
 
Desirable skills:
  • Knowledge of ieMR and proficiency in using this system
  • Previous experience working in Australia
  • Upskilling and experience in Videofluoroscopy Swallow Study (VFSS) or Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) 
 
The following competencies/training are also required:
  • Paid Blue Card
  • Manual and patient handling
  • Infection control
  • Aggressive behaviour management
 
Additional info:
  • Locum rates up to $70 + super depending on experience
  • Accommodation provided – local but upto 7km from the facility
  • Upto $350 each way for travel
  • There will be credentialing paperwork to complete before you can commence
