Who we’re looking for:

We are looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to join our high performing team based on site in Rockhampton. You will be responsible for the daily management of site operations including project deliveries, material storage, traffic management, waste management and welfare/ facilities management.

This project offers a Monday to Friday roster for the right candidate. Locals encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with:

  • a history of working within the Construction Industry over the past 3 years
  • excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, plus a highly collaborative nature
  • IT skills (e.g. Powerpoint, Word and Excel).
  • ability to manage multiple suppliers
  • a valid Open Drivers Licence
  • a trained First Aid Responder

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the site set-up to move labour, plant, and materials around site efficiently (e.g. fencing, barriers, signage, gates, site accommodation, cranes, material delivery and waste management).
  • Plan internal logistics routes at all phases of the construction program focusing on separation of vehicles, machinery, and people. Lay down areas and offloading points.
  • Direct logistics team to maintain internal pedestrian routes.
  • Maintain a secure site and ensure the access onto and egress from the site is safe.
  • Liaise with the stores person to ensure materials, plant and equipment is appropriately stored.
  • Responsible for ensuring that material movement to and from the workface does not cause damage to the works, the workforce, or the public.
  • Order materials and equipment required to implement the logistics plan.
  • Create, maintain, and update the Site Emergency Plan (including the Site Fire Plan) reporting to the appointed site fire officer.
  • Maintain fire points and all common lifesaving equipment.
  • Define and organise all site signage.
  • Manage all material movements to and from site including keeping associated records.
  • Manage guarding resource.
  • Be capable of managing a small team of operatives.
  • Ensure operatives are assured of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Create, maintain, and regularly update the Site Waste Management Plan to ensure the safe and efficient removal of waste from the project.
  • Attend regular coordination meetings and provide logistics management input as required.
