About the role

Reporting to the Manager, Engineering and Maintenance, the Mechanical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the development and execution of planned mechanical tasks across Centurion Mine. This includes ensuring mechanical maintenance and project works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with site objectives.

You'll provide technical support across mechanical systems and infrastructure that support underground operations, including compressed air, bulk air cooling, dewatering, and mobile equipment maintenance. The role also supports project scope development, contractor management and mechanical execution for Centurion North life extension activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the safe execution of planned mechanical maintenance and project activities.
  • Provide technical input into project scope development and implementation.
  • Support the development of operational and capital budgets, forecasts and expenditure tracking.
  • Lead and manage contractor performance to ensure compliance with safety, quality and schedule expectations.
  • Use sound maintenance principles to optimise mechanical system reliability and availability.
  • Participate in safety interactions, incident investigations and hazard management activities.
  • Monitor performance against plan and drive continuous improvement across maintenance and project delivery.

About you

You'll bring:

  • Trade or engineering qualifications in Mechanical discipline (essential).
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar coordination or supervisory role, ideally within an underground coal environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical infrastructure for underground mines (pumping, compressed air, cooling, mobile equipment, etc.).
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems for work management and purchasing.
  • Sound project management and contractor supervision skills.
  • A proactive approach to safety and strong interpersonal communication skills.

Post-trade qualifications in project management or mechanical engineering, and working toward a Mechanical Engineering Manager's Certificate of Competency will be highly regarded.
