The Opportunity

A fabulous opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Specialist - Mills and Combustion to join a fantastic team, the position specialises in the asset management of mills and combustion assets associated with thermal power generation

  • Scoping and planning of Mill overhaul work in conjunction with the maintenance team
  • Monitor and document asset performance and wear rate
  • Updating the Mill overhaul schedule commensurate with wear
  • Preparation of outage reports including review and documenting of maintenance check sheets
  • Manage the refurbishment of components
  • Identifies and progresses projects to improve the performance, reliability, and safety of assets
  • Provides input into and assists with updating plant area strategies, equipment strategies and Plan on a Page
  • Ensures alignment of maintenance plans in SAP with equipment strategies
  • Reviews and identifies strategic spares as well as long lead spares for outages
  • Assist with inspections, repair strategies and reports

About You

  • Trade Cert 3 + AD qualification or equivalent
  • Ideally minimum 5 + years hands-on experience in inspections and refurbishment of Mills and combustion equipment, or Heavy Industry experience
  • A solid understanding of Asset Management principles and their application including equipment strategy, business risk management, RCA investigations and plant modifications
  • Plant modification process, enterprise risk management, whole of life asset planning process, capital budget development process and continuous improvement process
  • Project management, cost management and management of multiple priorities
