The Opportunity:

Throughout the 4-year program you will receive first class training in state-of-the-art facilities, working on some of the most innovative and advanced equipment ranges globally. Upon successful completion of the Mechanical Fitter Apprenticeship, you will obtain the following qualification: MEM30219 - Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade.

PLEASE NOTE: The Mechanical Fitting Apprenticeship differs from our Plant Mechanic Apprenticeship.

Mechanical Fitter Apprentice:

As a Mechanical Fitter Apprentice, you will concentrate on the fitting, assembly, and maintenance of mechanical components for mobile plant equipment. This includes hands-on experience with a variety of components such as cylinders, pumps, final drives, engines, transmissions, slew motors, alternators, and more.

Plant Mechanic Apprentice:

In contrast, our Plant Mechanic Apprenticeship focuses on diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining construction and mining mobile plant machinery. You will gain specialised knowledge in hydraulic systems, cooling systems, braking and steering systems, diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and other intricate components vital to the operation of heavy machinery in demanding environments.

Recruitment Selection Process – (6 stages)

ASSESSMENT If successful, you will be invited to complete an assessment (numeracy, literacy, values based)

INTERVIEW Successful applicants will be invited to attend the local branch for a face-to-face interview, participate in group activities, complete a manual dexterity test and written assessment

PRE-EMPLOYMENT CHECKS Shortlisted applicants will then be required to conduct a medical assessment, drug and alcohol screen, functional assessment, compliance checks and reference checks (mature age applicants only)
