Qualifications & experience

 

  • A background in a medical secretary or receptionist role possessing experience in a specialised setting, is considered highly advantageous

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional organisational abilities and attention to detail

  • Proficiency in computer systems and basic office software

  • Ability to effectively multi-task in a busy environment

  • Knowledge of medical terminology is an advantage

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and as part of a team

 

 

 

Tasks & responsibilities

 

  • As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our practice. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Front Desk Operations: Greet and assist patients, answer phone calls, provide information on services and process billing and receipting protocols as per Medicare and Health Fund guidelines and legislation

  • Appointment Coordination: Schedule patient appointments, confirm upcoming visits, and manage the reception area flow

  • Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry, correspondence, and maintaining accurate patient records

  • Clinic Coordination: Setup and run our busy outpatients clinics, and efficiently handle check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance

  • Theatre & Inpatient Lists: Assistance with managing theatre lists liaising with Anaesthetists and Hospital Theatres ensuring lists are sent on time with accurate information

  • Provide exceptional customer service as a liaison between patients and medical personnel
