Burton Mine Complex

BUMA Australia have been awarded the contract to develop and mine several satellite pits that are near the old Burton Mine.Coal extracted at these satellite pits will be transported and processed through the Burton CHPP and railed from the onsite Train Load Out facility. Burton coal is world renowned for its high-quality coking coal and is well sought after in the global export markets.



About the Role:

We are seeking full time permanent Minor Plant Supervisor's to join our Burton team. In this role you will use your supervisor skills to lead a team focussed on the planning and execution of maintenance activities for all minor plant fleet such as light vehicles, tilt trays, generators, and general workshop gear.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the safe maintenance of minor plant equipment, meeting legislative guidelines and site standards.
  • Identify and promote safe work practice, ensuring appropriate precautions are taken to reduce risk to both people, equipment and the environment.
  • Provide positive leadership to the crew, mentoring and developing a collaborative and effective team.
  • Promote a clean and safe work environment


About You:

  • Australian recognised trade completion certificate in a maintenance related field such as Mechanic, Boilermaker, Electrician or transferable trade
  • Minimum 2 years previous supervisor experience highly desirable
  • High level of general maintenance skills on a variety of equipment.
  • Strong people leadership, communication and organisation skills
