awsm health is a NDIS-registered, community-based organisation providing therapeutic and plan management services to participants within Mackay, Sarina and surrounding communities.

Some services currently being delivered include:

  • Therapy and assessment services for participants of all ages:

    • Functional Capacity Assessments

    • Ongoing therapy 

  • AWSM OLDIES (60 years and older, falls prevention, mobility classes and walking groups)

About the role

awsm health is seeking a New Graduate and Senior Occupational Therapist to join our growing team in a permanent fulltime, part-time OR casual capacity. The Occupational Therapist will have the option to work autonomously within Mackay from the clinic, home and community. awsm health services participants under the NDIS and private participants/clientele. The Occupational Therapist will also work alongside Allied Health Assistants and other Allied Health Professionals.

NEW GRADUATES will receive a supported transition into the working role, with a graded introduction to an interest-based caseload and working responsibilities. New Graduates will be supported through weekly supervision, access to various Professional Development options and work shadowing. 

About you

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy

  • Current AHPRA registration

  • Australian Driver's Licence

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance/Working with Children's Check

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills including report-writing

  • A CAN DO attitude, be passionate about best practice and your client's wellbeing. 

  • Be adaptable, flexible and innovative - we are always open to new ideas and approaches!! 

  • Be confident, motivated, willing to learn and FUN!
