We have an exciting senior opportunity to for a Nurse Unit Manager to join our Rockhampton clinic.

You will lead the nursing team to achieve GenesisCare's strategic goals and values by providing advanced nursing knowledge, skills, leadership, and effective communication. This role focuses on building an engaged workforce, managing resources, and ensuring all legislative requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a role model for the nursing profession, maintaining high communication standards.
  • Oversee performance development and management, including annual reviews.
  • Champion GenesisCare initiatives to improve culture, quality, and efficiency, taking a leadership role in projects.
  • Support the Director of Nursing and cover their duties during leave periods.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance centre workflow and implement continuous improvements.
  • Ensure the delivery of a quality patient experience.

Requirements:

  • Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in oncology preferred.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to apply relevant legislation and standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with empathy for patients and their carers.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to quality improvement and best practice principles, including NSQHS.
  • Proven experience in leading a team and managing people effectively.
