QER is developing a major energy project critical to Australia’s future fuel security and quality of life. Seeking to replace fuel imports with Australian made heavy transport fuel responsibly sourced from Queensland’s rich kerogen resources, we have established a robust base-case project design and are integrating a range of innovative project enhancements to securely position the project for the future.

Part of a small site based team, located at our New Fuels Development Facility, the Operations & Projects Technician will ensure the reliable operation, monitoring and maintenance of site equipment and systems in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. The role requires a willingness and flexibility to complete a full range of  diverse tasks from providing input to the design, construction, operation and collection of data for interesting R&D projects through to the regular but no less important care and maintenance activities required at site.

An energetic, smart, practical, self-motivated and team-oriented person, with a demonstrated pro-active approach to safety, you will ideally have a Mechanical, Electrical/Instrument or related trade background, with prior process or operational experience within heavy industry, power, mining or the oil and gas sectors. Possession of appropriate licences for mobile equipment including forklift, EWP, and trucks, coupled with computer proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred.
