Part-time Rostering Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking an energetic and caring person with a “can do” attitude, who is able to face challenge with resilience and truly wants to make a difference in the lives of people with a disability. This role is permanent, part-time with a minimum of 15 hours per week.  Weekly hours can be fixed flexibly to suit in line with business needs. Full time hours may be required with notice to accommodate annual leave periods of current full-time Rostering staff member. 

We are fortunate to assist a diverse range of NDIS participants in our Supported Independent Living homes and with community access. Our clients have a range of disabilities and challenging behaviours. We are seeking a rostering person who is resilient and has a sound understanding of the importance of supporting people in line with our commitment to the NDIS practice standards.

This role would suit a self-organised multitasker with a positive attitude and who can work well under pressure.

 Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage rostering requests in a timely and responsive manner  
  • Manage annual leave requests
  • Coordinate new staff into buddy shifts
  • Update rosters for new service agreements to ensure system information is current and invoicing is accurate
  • Allocate Casual Staff to vacant shifts
  • Prompt and effective management of vacancies/conflicts in the roster as they occur 
  • Provide excellent customer service in a high volume and demanding professional team environment where there are competing priorities and strict deadlines 
  • Maintain accurate and timely data including participant and staff preferences 
  • Respond to and appropriately manage staff queries regarding their rosters 
  • Efficient follow through of tasks to completion 
  • In conjunction with Service Coordinator, ensure that shifts are filled in a timely manner and in such a way as to ensure minimum disruption to clients and ensure maximum cost effectiveness to the Organisation 
  • General administration as required 
  • Undertake other duties as requested to ensure the smooth running of Engedi Inc.

What you will need to be successful in the role:

  • Previous rostering experience preferably in the Disability or Aged Care industry using Visual Care, TCM or similar;
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Current drivers licensee (mandatory requirement);
  • Current Blue Card (mandatory requirement); 
  • NDIS disability worker screening clearance (mandatory requirement);
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module (mandatory requirement);
  • Preferably previous experience in rostering highly valued
  • Computer literacy especially in Microsoft Office software (training provided on our systems).
