About Bidgerdii

Bidgerdii Community Health Service is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled primary health care service, operating in the Rockhampton and Central Queensland region for 30 years. The organisation is a bulk billing community-controlled health service, managed by a Board of Directors who oversee and manage the strategic directions of the service.

 

Bidgerdii provides comprehensive primary health and well-being services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the Rockhampton and surrounding regions. Bidgerdii collaborates with health and well-being partner agencies to enable integrated continuity of care for the community and continue to work to contribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health policy and program reform in Queensland.

Position Overview

This Position is located within the High Street Clinic and forms part of the Clinic team, reporting to the Senior Medical Receptionist. The position is responsible for providing a high standard of customer service to Bidgerdii patients through management and coordination of medical recalls for patients requiring follow up appointments such as pathology reviews, external referrals, chronic health conditions and health care plans.

 

The position will actively contribute to the achievement of the Clinics business objectives, including increased practice Clients numbers, attendance rates and billings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring all patients requiring recall, follow-up appointments are contacted professionally and in a timely manner and patients’ appointments are recorded accurately and in accordance with policy / procedure.
  • Must work closely and seek direction from the clinic team for effective and efficient recall management processes.
  • Must work closely with the reception team and transport staff to facilitate patients attending recall appointments.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting on patient recall attendances and providing diligent records of all clients contact attempts.
  • Responsible for providing an excellent level of customer service to Bidgerdii patients, be self-motivated have a high attention to detail.
  • Update client records / data into medical software system in a timely / accurate manner.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Practical Requirements

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD) – essential
  • Immunisation requirements – It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A, COVID19 and pertussis (whooping cough) during their employment.
  • Satisfactory Police Criminal History Check.
  • Certificate III in Business Administration (Medical) – would be highly regarded
  • Computer and Word-processing Skills including MS Office, Excel and Client Databases.
  • Effective interpersonal skills including a high standard of customer service skills.
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultural differences particularly regarding issues impacting on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today and an ability to communication sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
