The Role
Livingstone Shire Council is seeking motivated and skilled Plant Operator / Labourers to join our Parks and Open Spaces team based in Yeppoon. This is a permanent full-time opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of our region’s open spaces, parks and gardens.
What’s the role about?
Reporting to the Team Leader you’ll be part of a multi-disciplined team and responsible for:

Operating Council plant and equipment including slashers, street sweepers, side arms, and water trucks.

Maintaining parks and gardens through mowing, spraying, pruning, irrigation, and landscaping.

Conducting visual inspections of park facilities and assisting with horticultural and arboriculture projects.

Engaging respectfully with the community and maintaining accurate records.

Upholding Council’s values, safety standards, and Code of Conduct.
What we’re looking for:

Certificate III in Horticulture and/or practical experience and skills gained from working in a plant operator/labourer position.

A current MR drivers licence;
-
Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
The successful candidate will be able to successfully complete a Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) and have a safety-first mindset See.Stop.Report and willingness to lead by example through safe work practices and proactive reporting.
