The Role

Livingstone Shire Council is seeking motivated and skilled Plant Operator / Labourers to join our Parks and Open Spaces team based in Yeppoon. This is a permanent full-time opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of our region’s open spaces, parks and gardens.

 

What’s the role about?

Reporting to the Team Leader you’ll be part of a multi-disciplined team and responsible for:

  • Operating Council plant and equipment including slashers, street sweepers, side arms, and water trucks.

  • Maintaining parks and gardens through mowing, spraying, pruning, irrigation, and landscaping.

  • Conducting visual inspections of park facilities and assisting with horticultural and arboriculture projects.

  • Engaging respectfully with the community and maintaining accurate records.

  • Upholding Council’s values, safety standards, and Code of Conduct.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Certificate III in Horticulture and/or practical experience and skills gained from working in a plant operator/labourer position.

  • A current MR drivers licence;

  • Construction Industry Induction (White Card).

The successful candidate will be able to successfully complete a Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) and have a safety-first mindset See.Stop.Report and willingness to lead by example through safe work practices and proactive reporting.
