Plumber 

  • Fixed Term (Until 31/10/2025) / Full Time
  • 76 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
  • Pro Rata amount of $85,752 per annum (LGIA Stream C Building and Trades Level 2 + Site Allowance + Tool Allowance + Leading Hand Allowance 2 ) + Superannuation
  • Location – Rockhampton

Your new role

Reporting to the Supervisor of Building and Maintenance, you will manage your day to scope, plan and undertake general plumbing and drainage maintenance to Council facilities and buildings across the Rockhampton Region.

Plumbing works will include preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance and repairs and some plumbing installation. Through your day to day work you may need to obtain quotes and procure equipment, plant and materials as well as complete all relevant safety documentation and plumbing applications/submissions.

Your industry knowledge will assist you to make decisions and complete daily work tasks of a high standard to meet legislative and safety standards.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

What we are looking for

  • QBCC licenced and Trade Qualified (Cert III in Plumbing and Drainage)
  • C Class Driver Licence (Work vehicle provided)
  • Substantial experience in maintenance and commercial plumbing and drainage
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications for maintenance works and projects
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt and be open to change
  •  Positive and helpful team player that works well with others while having the ability to work with limited supervision

Application Criteria

  • Trade Qualified and QBCC licenced to undertake plumbing and drainage works with substantial industry experience.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and a demonstrated commitment to safe working practices.
  •  Ability to work autonomously while demonstrating high level of organisational skills to prioritise and coordinate a range of tasks to meet deadlines.  
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with staff, contractors and the public.
