The Role
Council is seeking to appoint a permanent full time Plumbing and Drainage Inspector to join its Built Environment Team. The successful candidate will have high level customer service skills and experience supported by proven investigation and resolutions skills and technical decision making for compliance matters relating to drainage works and development applications including concurrence agency assessments for on-site sewerage facilities under the Queensland Plumbing and Drainage Act.
This position is responsible for assisting in the performance of Livingstone Shire Council’s Plumbing and Drainage Certification and compliance services, in accordance with relevant legislation and Council policies in a professional, efficient and confidential manner ensuring the development of good working relationships with all staff and the public.
This position requires the successful candidate to work indoors and operate Council’s business systems and work outdoors conducting plumbing and drainage inspections across the wider region of Livingstone shire.
Mandatory Qualifications, Licences, and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate III in Plumbing and Drainage and substantial demonstrated experience relevant to the role;
- Queensland Plumbing and Drainage Licence;
- Endorsement or ability to obtain an Endorsement on Plumbing and Drainage License for the Maintenance of On-site sewerage facilities;
- Eligibility for membership to the Institute of Plumbing Inspectors Queensland;
- Construction Industry Induction (White Card); and
- Possess and maintain a current motor vehicle driver licence.
