Lives Lived Well offer a variety of community and residential Alcohol and Other Drug programs throughout Queensland, New South Wales, and South Australia, helping thousands of people every year to navigate AOD related challenges and move forward in life.
Located 9km north of Rockhampton, Binbi Yadubay, meaning Healthy Beginnings, provides residential withdrawal and rehabilitation in Central Queensland. The service offers a safe and structured environment for adults seeking support with alcohol and other drug recovery, with treatment delivered by a multidisciplinary team over six to 12 weeks.
We are looking for an experienced Pre and Post Worker to join our team working at our Rockhampton Drug and Alcohol Residential Rehabilitation Service.
Your Opportunity
The role of Pre and Post Worker is based on-site, delivering individual and group-based counselling and case management to support clients with entry and exit of the facility.
We are ideally looking for someone to work 4 days per week, Tuesday to Friday. The salary for this role is $105,000 - $110,000 pro rata, plus Superannuation, depending on experience and qualifications. What we are looking for
Joining Lives Lived Well as a Pre and Post Worker gives you the chance to work with a diverse range of clients, develop your skills in the AOD space, and be part of a group of people who are passionate about what they do.
You don’t need to be an AOD specialist, but you will need to have a background in community or human services, a solid understanding of person-centred care, and know how to complete quality and evidence-based client assessments. You will also have the following skills and attributes:
- Client support and coordination including risk assessment and screening, and providing recommendations for suitable service support
- Understanding of evidence-based practice principles and how to apply them
- Demonstrated proficiency in motivational interviewing principles and behaviour change frameworks.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, high emotional intelligence, and non-judgmental communication.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to adapt these to your audience
- A calm approach and mature demeanour – along with patience and resilience, and the ability to relate effectively to a range of people, often in times of high-stress and emotion
- Solid computer skills and an understanding of the importance of keeping case notes and other information accurate and current
- Being a self-starter who can work autonomously, balance your workload, and manage your own time effectively. You will be flexible and able to switch tasks seamlessly
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field are highly regarded, but more importantly you will have passion, commitment, and a great attitude with a genuine alignment to the Lives Lived Well values. Our values are:

Our successful candidate will be required to obtain a National Police Check and hold a current Australian Drivers Licence.
