About the Role

We are currently seeking applications for a Process Operator (Pan Boiler)  located at Plane Creek Mill in Sarina. This position involves continuous shift work, weekend work and some overtime in the Crushing Season (June - Dec). During the Maintenance Season (Jan - May) it is a day work position with RDO's most Friday's.

The Pan Boiler is responsible for the production of high-grade sugar by monitoring liquor, molasses, magma, and massecuite stocks, and boiling at a rate so as not to limit the rest of the factory whilst still maintaining maximum sucrose recovery. This station requires the operator to control the station in a way that avoids unnecessary reductions in factory throughput and produces quality material.

This position works in conjunction with the Assistant Pan Boiler to ensure efficient and safe operation of this station. 

The ideal candidate will have

Sugar processing experience, as well as:

  • Working at Heights
  • Confined Space
  • Maintenance skills which are also highly desirable including any trade qualifications, Rigger, Dogger, and Scaffolder High Risk Work Licences

The successful applicant will also be required to undertake further training to complete the appropriate Assistant Pan Boiler station and maintenance competencies.
