Salary: $120,000 + superannuation

About Us

City Cabinetmakers is a locally owned and operated cabinetry business specialising in custom kitchens, bathrooms, wardrobes and laundries. We take pride in producing high-quality workmanship and delivering outstanding results for our clients across the Mackay and outer regions.

We’re now seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee all aspects of our workshop operations and production team.

About the Role

As the Production Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our cabinetry workshop — from scheduling and workflow coordination to quality control and staff supervision. You’ll ensure projects are completed on time, to specification, and to our high-quality standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with a strong background in cabinet making or manufacturing and a passion for efficient, high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of cabinetry production and assembly

  • Plan and schedule workflow to meet project deadlines

  • Supervise, train, and support cabinet makers and apprentices

  • Review drawings and job specifications for accuracy before production

  • Monitor quality control throughout fabrication and pre-installation

  • Coordinate with project managers, installers, and design teams

  • Manage materials, stock control, and supplier relationships

  • Ensure workshop safety and compliance with WHS standards

  • Drive process improvement and maintain a clean, organised workspace

Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a similar Production Manager or Leading Hand role

  • Strong knowledge of cabinetry or manufacturing processes and materials

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

  • Strong leadership and communication abilities

  • Computer literacy (experience with Cabinet Vision or similar software highly regarded)

  • Current driver’s licence
