Production Technician 

Council is seeking to appoint a casual Production Technician to contribute to Council’s success.

  • Fast paced and diverse role 
  • Deliver the region’s largest community events 
  • Located at the Gladstone Entertainment & Convention Centre

About the Role

The purpose of this position is to provide effective and efficient technical, operations and maintenance support and advice to venue hirers, GECC and the broader Events and Entertainment team, in order to deliver quality productions for hirers, patrons, organisations and residents of the Gladstone region.

Your role will include:

  • Promoting a positive Workplace Health and Safety culture and ensure active compliance
  • Working with the GECC’s Production team to deliver a wide range of internal and external community events 
  • Working in a high paced environment with GECC’s event roster including a wide variety of hours and days

You will bring: 

  • Certificate III in Live Production and Technical Services (or related discipline) and/or 2 years’ experience working in a production environment in a venue or an outdoor events space.
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service, interpersonal and communication skills, to engage with a diverse client base.
  • Problem solving skills to effectively address technical matters prior to escalating to the Team Leader.
  • Previous relevant experience working in live production environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Sound communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient keyboard skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems.
  • Must be eligible and willing to obtain on appointment, a positive notice Working with Children Blue Card.
  • Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.
  • Ability to obtain Working at Heights competency.
  • Ability to obtain Basic Rigging (RB) and Dogging (DG) High Risk Work Licence.
  • Must be willing to attend First-aid and CPR Training and apply knowledge when required in the workplace.
  • Must be willing to attend Fire Warden Training and apply knowledge when acting as Chief/Deputy/Area Warden in the workplace.
