About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a program officer to join our team. You will work collaboratively with the Regional Workforce Transition Officer to respond to challenges and take advantage of opportunities within the Central Queensland (and surrounds) to support your community's workforce transition to net zero.
About you
We are seeking individuals with the following skills and capabilities:
- Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a virtual team.
- Highly developed organisational, administrative and time management skills.
- Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with a diversity of stakeholders.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated integrity and commitment to the department's values and APS Code of Conduct.
You will have highly developed, or the demonstrated ability to quickly acquire a working knowledge of the Central Queensland labour market, community, and economy, and supports for a transitioning workforce. Ideally you will live or have recent lived experience in the Central Queensland, along with deep connections to the community.
You will also have the ability to maintain a physical presence in the Central Queensland as you will be expected to be available for face-to-face meetings and community engagements with stakeholders. This may be up to 4 days a week and may include some out of hours work within the region.
