The role
As a Program Support Officer, you’ll provide essential administrative and coordination support to the Health Priorities team, helping deliver impactful programs and initiatives. This role suits someone highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll be part of a collaborative team working to deliver programs aligned with strategic priorities and community needs.
What you'll do
In this role, you will:

Provide high-level administrative and operational support including meeting coordination, document preparation, and stakeholder engagement.

Assist in commissioning health services by supporting planning and collaboration activities aligned with the Department of Health, Disabilities, and Aging’s Commissioning Cycle.

Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting and presentation development to support governance and program delivery.

Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders including service providers, hospital and health services, and peak bodies.

Support contract administration, program monitoring, and evaluation activities.

Collaborate across teams to ensure integrated and effective program delivery.

Assist in tracking performance outcomes and ensuring programs meet strategic and operational requirements.

Undertake other duties as directed by the Health Priorities Lead and leadership team.

Key selection criteria

Demonstrated experience in completing administrative tasks including meeting scheduling and secretariat duties involving complex stakeholders.

Experience in supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of projects and programs.

Understanding or willingness to acquire knowledge of health commissioning processes and health delivery in a community environment.

Ability to support cohesive networking and stakeholder engagement.

Attention to detail and advanced written and verbal communication skills with experience in producing plans and reports.

Demonstrated strong organisational and project management skills with an ability to manage competing timelines and prioritise deliverables.

Demonstrated interpersonal, communication (oral and written), and engagement skills.

Ability to work independently and effectively within a diverse team and collaborate with other internal portfolios.

Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities including Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and Australian South Sea Islander peoples in our region.
