About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Recruitment Officer to join our Human Resources team based at our Rockhampton site in Queensland. In this full-time and permanent position, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire recruitment process of blue-collar roles with a focus on creating an engaging employee onboarding experience.

Reporting directly to our Human Resources Manager, you will identify and address the workforce needs by planning and coordinating recruitment activities. This includes managing applicant platforms, building relationships with candidates and hiring managers alike, ensuring consistency across candidate management and the maintenance and confidentiality of information and records.

Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the HR Manager and be exposed to different team activities such as employee engagement, training, reporting, return-to-work processes and performance management.

Overall responsibilities include:

  • Managing internal recruitment process, including talent attraction activities (advertisement drafting, posting), phone screening, candidate selection, interviewing, reference checking through to employee onboarding
  • Coordinating pre-employment activities, such as pre-employment medical assessments and VEVO compliance checks
  • Preparing letters of offer and onboarding documentation
  • Assisting with planning and coordination of local recruitment campaigns and attraction strategies
  • Supporting the Human Resources Manager as required.

About You

It is essential that you have the following experience/skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar recruitment role.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to provide high-level customer service
  • Passionate and dedicated work ethic with a ‘can-do’ attitude and a continuous improvement mindset.

Desirable:

  • Qualifications in Business/Human Resources or other related disciplines
  • Volume/bulk recruitment and assessment centre experience
  • Experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Q-fever vaccinated (or willing to get).
