The Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton have multiple exciting opportunities for experienced Registered Nurses to work within our Perioperative unit.
Positions are available in the following areas:
- Scrub/Scout
- Anaesthetic
- Recovery
These roles can be offered on a full-time, part-time, or casual basis. Shifts are predominately Monday to Friday, but some weekend shifts may be required. On-call responsibilities may also a feature of this role.
Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton's perioperative services comprise five operating complexes, seven recovery bays and a central sterilising Unit.
The Theatre Complex provides pre- and post-operative recovery room care and specialised endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures. The surgical case mix includes orthopaedic, obstetric, gynecologic, ENT, oral, urology, paediatric, general, vascular, spinal and ophthalmic surgery.
Salary range: $41.47 - $53.30 per hour (RN1) plus superannuation (plus casual loading if applicable) plus access to generous salary packaging
What you'll be doing
As a Registered Nurse in the Theatre Department, you will provide patient-centred nursing care in collaboration with other health professionals and significant others to ensure safe, efficient, and effective patient management within the Operating Theatres.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
- Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
- Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
- Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
About you

To be successful in this position, you will possess:
- Currently AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
- Demonstrated nursing experience within a perioperative setting or have transferable skills that can be developed with professional training
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles
- Be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or have a perioperative ANMAC occupation code for sponsorship purposes
