Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Reliability Engineer to join our growing team, based on-site and assisting our client to work within the HME or Field departments, you will play a critical role in driving asset performance, improving equipment reliability, and supporting safe, efficient mining operations for our client.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse equipment performance data and identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.

  • Conduct RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and lead improvement initiatives to reduce unplanned downtime.

  • Develop and review maintenance strategies for HME and Field fleets including haul trucks, dozers, graders, excavators, and auxiliary equipment.

  • Support field teams with technical troubleshooting and reliability-focused decision-making.

  • Monitor condition-based maintenance (CBM) activities and ensure timely intervention.

  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and OEMs to improve asset life cycles and optimise component change-out intervals.

  • Prepare reliability reports, performance dashboards, and recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Contribute to a strong safety culture by ensuring all engineering activities align with site safety standards and statutory requirements.

About You

  • Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or related trade with extensive industry experience.

  • Proven experience in reliability or maintenance engineering within the coal mining industry.

  • Strong understanding of HME and Field fleets and mining maintenance practices.

  • Proficiency in data analysis, condition monitoring, and reliability tools.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.

  • A results-driven mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
