Join Steelarc Engineering as a Repair Coordinator
Based at our Paget Workshop, Mackay

Steelarc Engineering is looking for an experienced Repair Coordinator to take charge of the end-to-end estimation and repair process for heavy structural mining equipment.

This role plays a key part in ensuring jobs are accurately quoted, efficiently managed, and completed to Steelarc’s high standards of quality and safety.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate repair quotes for heavy mining equipment (e.g., buckets, blades, trays, booms, and more), including occasional site visits for assessments.

  • Monitor and manage the progress of repairable jobs within the workshop.

  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective outcomes.

  • Provide regular updates and detailed progress reports to management and clients.

  • Lead job close-out meetings, capturing lessons learned for continuous improvement.

  • Compile and deliver MDRs (Manufacturer Data Reports) to customers when required.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication (Boilermaker) or equivalent qualification.

  • Experience in a similar role, with strong knowledge of heavy equipment repair and estimation (mining sector experience highly regarded).

  • Sound understanding of repair processes, materials, and associated costs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, MS Projects) and related software (e.g., JAQ).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both autonomously and within a team.

  • High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
