About Us: MADEC is a not for profit, community organisation. Recognized as a Public Benevolent Institution since 2014, we have been providing disability and youth supports in the Mackay and Whitsunday region since 1973. We are a Licensed Child Safety Provider and registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Provider in Mackay.
About the Role: As a Residential Youth Worker, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and nurturing environment for young individuals in Residential Care. Working closely with your Key Support Workers and Team Leader, you will help empower young people to thrive and build a brighter future. This role plays an important part in MADEC's mission to empower and support people to do their best.
Key Responsibilities: Provide person-centered support by ensuring the right amount of assistance to each young person. Provide documented support including completing incident reports, behavior reports, hazard reports and maintenance requests. Empower young people to exercise choice and control in their lives. Provide positive behavior support by implementing support strategies. Demonstrate a commitment to workplace health & safety.

About You: To be successful in this role, you will need: Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including mornings, afternoons, sleepovers, weekends and public holidays. A Certificate IV in Child, Family and Youth Intervention or Early Childhood Education (or equivalent) or evidence of enrolment. A valid Queensland Driver’s License. A current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain. A strong alignment with our core values of human rights, community, excellence and empowerment.
