Safety Adviser

Schwarz Excavations are seeking a motivated Safety Advisor to join our team based in Central Queensland. As a Safety Advisor you will provide oversite and management of the various projects undertaken, and to ensure that these activities confirm to the intent of the Safety Management System.

About the Role:  

• Liase as appropriate with clients, subcontractors, supervisors and other persons
• Provide health, safety and environment management services for Schwarz Excavations in line with current procedures and guidelines
• Ensure that services comply with relevant legislative requirements and support a safe and healthy work environment
• Provide technical safety services including accident and incident investigations
• WHS Audits
• Risk assessments and rehabilitation management
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients
• Acquire and maintain the skills and knowledge relating to the Safety Advisor role

Pre-Requisites of the Role: 

• Significant demonstrated experience in workplace health and safety functions within a complex and diverse organisation
• Diploma in Work Health and Safety, and formal incident investigation(preferred)
• 5 years' experience in related business
• Hold proven verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain relationships
• Strong management and leadership skills
• Strong computer skills
• Focus and commitment to a zero-harm environment 
• Car Licence
• White card
