Kaefer Industrial Services have an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor - Scaffold to join our team. This is an exciting time join our passionate team and work in a close knit and supportive team!
Our growth continues in the Gladstone region, extending our largest scaffold and access contract long into the future. The contract extension allows us to partner with our key client and provide scaffold services across the site.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Scaffold Supervisor to join our team in the Gladstone region, based on site Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing and managing all scaffolding operations.
- Work in conjunction with the Construction Manager and the project management team to coordinate scaffolding operations amongst Supervision teams.
- Ensure adherence to all work procedures that are consistent with the project execution strategy.
- Confer with supervision teams, technical engineering, inspectors and procurement to ensure appropriate stock levels in equipment and materials and resolve any problems affecting productivity and schedules.
- Effectively monitor and control general labour productivity.
- Liaise with Human Resources to coordinate manning schedules, rosters, and evaluating training and development initiatives to improve project performance amongst the scaffolding team.
- Liaise with the supervision teams and Human Resources to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce.
- Ensure project personnel adhere to legislation and industry standards in health safety and environment; quality; employee relations; commercial and finance.
- Ensure compliance with ethical practices and company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that client works are completed to the required quality, safety and environmental standards.
- Report any non-conformances, near misses and incidents in relation to safety, health, environment and quality immediately to project management as required.
- Participate in the investigation process for all incidents which fall within the allocated work crew, striving for determination of root cause and the identification of corrective actions.
- Attend regular meetings with project management staff and crew to ensure effective project planning, performance, communication of progress and management of positive relationships.
- Utilise clear communication channels to ensure that a full understanding of the work scope is achieved amongst project supervision and crew.
About You
- At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar Supervision role
- Candidates must be local to Gladstone or the surrounding area, or willing to relocate to be considered for this position.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high standards of HSE performance
- Demonstrated ability to provide direction and mentoring to team members
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Able to work under pressure, multi-task, together with the capacity to plan and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
- Problem solver and solution focused
- High risk work license – SI/SA
- Sound to intermediate level of computer skills and the ability to work with in-house programs and software
